A Vaping Vendor Who Gets It

June 15, 2015

Regular readers of this Blog understand that I’m not generally impressed with a significant number of Vaping vendor’s web sites. I’m referring to issues related to Age Verification, Trademark infringement, a visible and prominent support for activism, not a word about who they are, no Privacy policys, and the list goes on and on. My views are obviously skewed since I view the entire Vaping landscape from an activist perspective. All of which brings me to the subject of this post.

When a Vaping vendor is honest and passionate about the regulatory landscape, and willing to voice these views on a public forum, I’m committed to giving them credit and my own admiration. What a pleasant surprise to discover a post by Vapers Tek which is titled “Is the Vaping industry not watching it’s own back”. A few exstractions for your reading pleasure:

“First off, Why are we using sex to sell Electronic cigarettes, especially magazines? Is our memory so bad that we forget the days gone by of cigarette manufacturers using sex to sell cigarettes. How did that go for big tobacco when the FDA did NOT regulate tobacco back then. I honestly do not understand the “glamorization” of vaping.

What I do not like, and I am sure I am not in the minority, is when I show a child under 12 a picture in a magazine of an E-liquid line, and their eyes light up from the WOW factor because it looks enticing.

My point is, we are reliving the history of the tobacco industry , and if we have forgotten what happened to them we will go down the same path. Well actually it is too late, we are.

Just stop and think about your labeling, your packaging, your marketing angle from the point that you want to stay in business and have an alternative to smoking that people will use instead of smoking. If your E-liquid is REALLY as good to the masses as YOU think it is then you do not need any type of ALLURING material associated with it, it will sell itself, and do that through peer pressure more than likely.”

This post link leads to a Forum which does contain some posts/language/images which are not family friendly and that you may find offensive.

After I read this post, I visited the Vapers Tek web site to see if they actually deploy what their Forum post says. Another words, it’s one thing to “talk the talk” but do they “walk the walk”. I’m happy to report my joy with this quick list, in no particular order, of responsible actions on their Web site:

  • Age Verification before you can view the site
  • A prominent display of the SFATA badge
  • Their own Vapers Tek E-Liquids bottle labels only use their own logo plus a straightforward and descriptive text. All displayed using a generic background image.
  • Real details on their About Us page
  • A “News on FDA Regulations” page
  • A “Privacy Policy” page
  • NIC base includes Lab reports and warnings
  • Links to the following reports: Chemnovatic MSDS, Chemnovatic Certificate of Analysis, Nuscana Certificate of Analysis
  • All product descriptions are straightforward, short, and on point.

Enough said! Outstanding. This vendor has a long term view and understands what is necessary to survive when (not if) the FDA lowers the boom.

DISCLAIMER/DISCLOSURE: No one asked me to make this post. I do not and will not accept any form of compensation or “in kind” for any post I make. I have purchased their UK sourced 100 MG NIC and it’s arguably the cleanest and purist NIC available on Planet Earth or Mars. 🙂 Other Vaping vendors who passionately support activism and are willing to clearly post your detailed views in a public forum are encouraged to use our Contact Us page and let me know. I’m happy to cover your public post, compliance, and support your efforts with a dash of “ink”.
